Prayer for Salvation

  1. Pray for protection for yourself and everyone that you love and who is dear to you.

“My Father, I pray that you will protect me against every attack that Satan and his power have against me. You know my heart, and that I love You. I thank You Lord Jesus for what you did for me on the cross, and I bind all the power of satan in Your Name.”

2. Confess any sins that could give satan the right to attack you.

3. Acknowledge that you are powerless in your own strength (John 15:5)

4. Ask Him to save you from ………….. (name the sin).

5. Rely on Jesus that He saved you.

Hebr 11:6 “You can never please God without faith, without depending on Him. Anyone who want to come to God must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely look for Him.”

6. Resist satan out load

“satan you that attacks me on this issue, I have been forgiven by Jesus Christ and you have no right of attacking me. I order you in the Name of Jesus: go out of my life, I reject you.”

James 4:7 “resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

  • General Remarks:
    • Don’t be half hearted
    • Mean what you pray
    • Be sincere when you confess your sins to Jesus. Do this prayer and spiritual warfare every time you stumble and sin.
    • Faith and trust in Jesus that He will listen and give His attention to you is very important.

Prayer to get rid of the habits of the old person

In the name of Jesus, I submit my spirit. mind and body to the will and plans of God.

I bind myself to the truth of God, and the blood of Jesus that works daily in my life.

I bind my thoughts to the thoughts of Jesus, so that I can have His thoughts, plans and views within me.

I bind my feet to the path that you want me to follow O Lord so that my footsteps can be powerful.

I bind myself to the cross and its mercy, forgiveness and death of the selfish “I”.

In the name of Jesus, I bind evil and its power over my life. I rebuke his works.

Lord I regret my wrong thoughts and views. I reject them and asks for your forgiveness.

I ask that You destroy every old thought, way of thinking, idea, desire and habit that is still working in me.

I bind myself to the views and ways of Jesus Christ. I bind myself to the victory and spiritual desires that are in keeping with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Father I ask that you destroy every stronghold of negative feelings that I harbour against anybody. Forgive me as I forgive those who caused me pain, and sadness.

I ask in the name of Jesus that You destroy any curse that was spoken over my family and me. I also ask in the Name of Jesus to destroy all the curses that was spoken against my fore fathers.

I thank you Jesus that you are true to Your Word and that you have answered my prayer.

I worship You as the only and true living God and King in my life!

Amen, in Jesus Name.

Faith Surety and Spiritual Growth

You can be sure!

Yes, you can be SURE that you are a child of God. If our salvation and our surety depended on our own deeds, our own choices, and our own convictions, we would never be sure. BUT our salvation depends on Christ. He says it very clearly in 2 Cor 5:21 and Eph 2:6

John 5:12 – 13. John writes: “He wo has the Son has life. He, who doesn’t have the Son of God, does not have life. This letter I write to you so that you will know that you have eternal life, you that believe in the Son of God”

  • What else can you be sure of?
    • Jesus Christ lives in you – Gal 2:20, Rev 3:20
    • The Holy Spirit lives in you – Rom 8:9, 1 John 2:27
    • You already possess eternal life – John 3:16, John 3:36
    • There is no judgment for you – Rom 8:1
    • You are a new person – 2 Cor 5:17

What then about feelings?

He wants you to believe that you should feel some kind of an ecstasy. The word of God only asks faith … not faith and feeling.

Rom 1: 17 says: “Only and simply because they believe.” If you are a child of God doesn’t it have any influence on your feelings and emotions? Yes, of course it affects your whole life, you mind, your will, feelings and all your powers.

A Christian often gets overwhelmed with joy, peace and victory, but his is the consequence of the fruit of your conversion – not the basis of it. Your faith stays anchored in God, because faith means that we accept God’s Word. Because faith is the turning away from yourself toward the never changing God, this certainty that God provides, will keep you anchored. If Satan therefore makes you unsure you can answer: “I am saved!” Rom 8:30,34 say: “Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has forgiven us and given us right standing with Him. Who then will condemn us? Will Christ? Not! For He is the one who died for us and came back to life again for us and is sitting at the place of highest honour next to God, pleading for us there in heaven” In this way God’s Word becomes the sword against Satan’s attacks.

Remember: You are a new person! Live like it!

God made you new. He gave you everything that you need to live like a new person and to worship Him. (2 Pet 1 :3) He asks that we give everything, to live out the things He gave us. He gives the equipment and asks the following:

  • A new view on:
    • God: Love and obedience – 1 John 4:11
    •  Your parents: respect and obedience – 1 Col 3:20
    •  Your neighbours: be interested in what they do – Phil 2:3-4
    •  Your schoolwork: fully for Jesus – 1 Cor 10:31
    •  Your friends: Jesus is King! – Hebr 10:24
    •  Sadness: Jesus is there for you! – 1 Peter 1:6-7
    •  Creation: God made it! – Ps 104:31

Fight against sin

The devil will try to get you back into his kingdom now. Don’t underestimate him. If any temptation come to you remember that with this temptation comes deliverance. Persevere therefore by choosing deliverance above temptation! (1 Cor 10:13)

  • How should you fight?
    • Don’t give the devil a foothold – Eph 4:27
    • Fix your thoughts on the Lord – Phil 4:8
    • Run away from sin – 1 Tim 6:11
    • Enjoy the good things in life – 2 Ti 2:22, Hebr 10:24
    • Don’t us bad language – give blessing to others – Eph 4:29

When you stumble

God’s children stumble often and sin. John encourages us not to sin, but adds that when we sin, we have an intercessor who pleads for us before the Father (1 John 2:1) When the hurdles athlete knocks over the hurdle he is still a hurdles athlete, only one who stumbled. When you stumble, you are still God’s child, God’s child that He picks up. All He asks is that you confess your sins (1 John 1 :9) and then know that He has forgiven you. Just don’t stay in sin.

Don’t stay a baby Christian!

When you repent, you become a baby in faith. As a young Christian, you still have a lot to learn. You have to become stronger in the Lord.

You should grow spiritually into a mature Christian. You should become more and more like Jesus (1 John 2:6)

How can you grow spiritually?
  • Read and listen every day to what the One who loves you the most and cares the most about you has to say to you. You find this in the Work of God. (2 TIm 3:16,17) LIVE WHAT YOU READ!
  • Share everything that is in your heart with Jesus every day. Pray often -without stopping (1 Thess 5:17)
  • Ask yourself regularly if what you do pleases the Lord (Eph 5: 1 0)
  • Live as a new person, completely according to the will of God. Be Holy (Eph 4:24)
  • Seek out other children of the Lord – you are now all part of the communion of believers.
  • Worship the Lord wherever you go (1 John 3: 16)
  • Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit – He convicts you deep in your heart of what is right and wrong. (Gal 5:16)
  • Testify about Jesus and His Love. The Lord will help you to tell others about His love and salvation. (1 Peter 2:9)
  • Don’t lose hope when things are difficult. Persist in the Lord so that you can be victorious in the fight and receive the prize his promises us (Hebr 10:36)

How to make the right choice

  • Ask yourself:
    • Will God be worshiped through this? – 1 Cor 10:31
    • Can this cause someone else to fall? – 1 Cor 8: 13
    • Is this helpful to other? – 1 Cor 10:24;33
    • Is this helpful to my spiritual life? – 1 Cor 10:23
    • What would Jesus do in my place? – 1 Cor 11:1
  • Remember it should always be about how close you live to God’s heart.

Bear fruit!

Jesus is the true vine, and we are the branches. The father is the Gardener. When we bear fruit, it brings glory to the Father.

John 15:8) Jesus gave us the secret of bearing fruit. This secret you find in John 15:5-8. Please read it!

Deliverance: After-Care

A person, who received deliverance, should live watchful, because the binding power of the past will try to get a hold over you again.

  • And the bondage, in which Satan held you, will be broken. – Luke 13:16
  • The right that Satan had in your life was taken from him. – Eph 4:27
  • Because you have the promise, that Jesus who lives in you is stronger than Satan who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4

  1. Math 12:43-45: “but the devil will try to get a hold on your life again. This evil nation is like a man possessed by a demon. For if the demon leaves, it goes into the desert for a while, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, ‘I will return to the man I came from.’ So, it returns and finds the man’s heart clean but empty! Then the demon finds other spirits more evil than itself, and all enter the man and live in him. And so, he is worse off than before. This is the way it will be to all the evil people to today.”

A. The evil spirit will try to attach you. This will stop if you resist them in the name of Jesus Christ. (Previously the attack was from within, now it is form outside.) Allow the Holy Spirit to be in control of your life, so that the devil has no right to attack you anymore

B. You are still not perfect. Often a person feels so good after deliverance that he thinks all his problems are over.

C. Deliverance is only one of the mercies God gave to you.

D. You still have to grow spiritually in holiness, otherwise you will suffer spiritual damage and you can unknowingly leave an opening for the enemy.

How should I resist the attack?

Pray that God will protect you and cover you with His blood.

If you are attacked by one of the spirits who were dealt with during deliverance, tell the Lord that you are rejecting this spirit. If you sinned again and left an opening, you should confess this specific sin, and stop doing it.

Order this spirit to go away in the Name of Jesus Christ. Tell this spirit that you are rejecting him. For example, “Spirit of lust, in the Name of Jesus Christ I order you to leave my life. I reject you and order you in the Name of Jesus never to come back.”

It may be necessary to do this more than once; as well as every time this spirit attacks you.

If the problem does not go away, pray with someone with knowledge of deliverance. There is victory in Jesus Christ.

You have to believe. You should know and trust deep inside you that this spirit is out of your life and has been defeated by Jesus. The Satan tests us in this way to see if we really mean it. Remember that thoughts can also be sin, if you concentrate on them. Therefore, you should also resist these thoughts and reject them in Jesus Name. Now make sure that you stay free and don’t get all tied up again in chains of slavery to Jewish laws and ceremonies. (Gal 5:1)

In the light of what we mentioned above, you can expect that the Satan will work against you very actively.

To repeat: He will try to win back his old position. (Matt 12:43-45)
He will try to pull down your faith through:

  • Present lies to you (John 8:44)
  • Accuse you in front of God (Zach 3:1-3)
  • (Confess your sins and make things right with the Lord)
  • Try to seduce you (Rev 20:10)
  • He will deceive you (2 Cor 2:10)
  • He will try to make you give up, so that life doesn’t seem worthwhile anymore. (Joh 8:44)
  • He will try to lead you into temptation (Matth 4:3)
  • He will try to prevent you from doing God’s work. (1 Tess 2:18)
  • He will act as the enemy against you. (Matth 13:19)
  • He will try to frighten you with his roar like a hungry lion. (1 Pet 5:8)
Destroy all objects and idols that can be related to pagan religions.

Deut 7:25,26. Burn their idols and do not touch the silver of gold they are made of. Do not take it or it will be snare to you, for is horrible to the Lord your God. Do not bring an idol into your home and worship it, for then your doom is sealed. Utter detest it, for it is a cursed thing.

Read: 1 Cor 10:19:22, 1 John 5:21, Acts 10:18;10

Even if you don’t see it as an idol, or worship it, you may not keep it. The word says that you should burn their idols with fire. Even the gold it was made from is polluted and should be rejected.

If something is atrocious to God, you should not keep it.
If you keep it, you are under anathema (God’s curse)

Resist Satan by wearing the Lord’s Armour. (Eph 6:10-18)

But to do this; you will need the strong belt of truth because the truth will set you free. (John 8:32,36; 14:6)

Wear the shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. (Eph 2:14) In every battle, you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. And you will need the helmet of salvation (Matt 1:21) and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. (John 1: 14) The breastplate of God’s approval – Jesus is our righteousness. Prayer is the power that makes everything possible.

Your life should be completely in God’s hands, and you should live in devotion to Him.

Having such great promise as these, dear friends, let us turn away from everything wrong, whether of body or spirit. And purify ourselves, living in the wholesome fear of God, giving ourselves to Him alone. 2 Cor 7:1, Rom 12:1,2
Maintain a powerful prayer life. You don’t have because you don’t pray. James 4:2

Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit’s wishes. Plead with him, reminding him of you needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.

Josh 1:8, Dan 6:11, Rom 12:12, Eph 6:18

It is very important that you interact with other Christians, have Communion with other believers. You will grow together and five each other strength.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Eph 5:18 Don’t drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; Be filled instead with the Holy Spirit, and controlled by him. Gal 5:16: I advise you to obey only the Holy Spirit’s instructions. He will tell you where to go and what to do, and then you won’t always be doing the wrong things your evil nature wants you to. Gal 5:25: If we are living now by the Holy Spirit’s power, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Be free in Jesus Christ.

John 8:36: So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free. Gal 5:1: So Christ has made us free. Now make sure that you stay free and don’t get all tied up again in the chains of slavery to Jewish laws and ceremonies. 1 John 4:4: Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ. Because there is someone in your heart, who is stronger than any evil teacher in this wicked world.

Stay away from places where you could be drown into situations where God is not honored and served

2 Thess 3:6: Now here is a command, dear brothers, given in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ by His authority: stay away from any Christian who spends his days in laziness and does not follow the ideal of hard work we set up for you.

Read: 2 Tim 2:19-26, Proverbs 1:10, 2 Cor 6: 14-17

Always be willing to testify about what Jesus has done for you during deliverance. Focus on Jesus. 1 Pet 3:15, Acts 1:8

Come into a habit of always praising and worshiping the Lord.

Read: Coll 3:16, 1 Thess 5:16,18, Psalm 8:3, Matth 21:16, Hebr 13:15

Stand against all evil things.

James 4:6-7 Break away from negative habits like sexual sins, addiction and wrong music.

God has an eye that sees everything. He sees everything that is happening – out in the open and those in secrecy. But God also has a heart that forgives everything.

“And I will be merciful to them in their wrongdoing, and I will remember their sins
no more.” Hebrews 8:12

Listen to what God does with our sins, if we confess them to Him …

He forgives us our sins – 1 John 1:9

He will throw our sins in the depths of the ocean – Micah 7:9

He will take away our sins – Isaiah 6:7

He will remember our sins no more – Hebrews 8:12

Your sins have been forgiven in the name of Jesus Christ – 1 John 2:2

He sets us free from sin – 1 Corinthians 6:11

He cleanses us form all our sin – Titus 2:14

He bundles all our sins together and seals it – Job 14:17

We cannot hide our sins form God. Let us therefore confess them and accept His forgiveness.

Live in the joy of His forgiveness!

We had our first meeting on 28 May 2017 @ 16:00PM at the house of the Founder and Chairman Theo van Houten with 22 guests that attended. At this meeting Theo shared his vision of what God gave him and the prophesies that he received over time, where God spoke to him “to bring His people out of darkness into the light”.

The focus is to provide faith-based counselling and inner-healing.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Colossians 1:13-14

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. – 1 John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.   John 1:5

The name is derived from, Let It Go (LIG). Let it Go and Let God. God is light and there is no darkness in Him.

GOD IS LIG NPC (Registration number 2017/241408/08) was registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) as a Non-Profit Company without members. Three (3) directors not related was appointed: Theo van Houten, Dr. Gerard Van Harmelen and André Potgieter.

We were unfortunately not able to register the company or domain as LIG, per the original plan; since there were already other institutions, churches, companies and magazines that caused conflict; based on the options we have submitted (LIG, LIG Bediening, GOD IS LIG, Daar is LIG), GOD IS LIG was approved. We were able to secure the domain:

We have finalized the constitution and submitted our Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) application with South African Revenue Services (SARS) on 17 December 2017. We have received the outcome that it (PBO Number 930061935) was approved on 16 July 2018 without article 18A.

“He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of His dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.” Col 1:13-14

“I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” Act 26:18

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
